As we can see right at the beginning of the series, the Grant twins are very different from each other, something that is also reflected in the wardrobe: "With Lennon’s style, I wanted to lean into the family’s Hawaiian roots while featuring Lennon’s laid-back confidence and easy sensuality… especially in contrast to Allison’s style, which was more ordinary and not as overt," says Audrey Fisher.

The designers continues: "So that meant for Lennon bikini tops with tanks and sheer tees that slid off the shoulder, short shorts, perfect little sundresses and of course flip flops… Quintessential island looks: sun kissed, casual & beachy. But that effortless, sunny style hides many secrets…"

Y aunque los looks isleños de Lennon nos han dejado hipnotizados episodio tras episodio, el estilo fashionista de Margot nos ha enamorado. Cada look lucido por Brianne era una completa fantasía en la que no faltaban los colores pastel y, cómo no, los accesorios: "Como nuestra princesa fashionista residente, influencer e hija de la riqueza, el vestuario de Margot tenía que telegrafiar mucha información sobre su posición en el mundo. Hice una gran prueba en Los Ángeles con Brianne antes de viajar a Hawái, y eso fue muy valioso para reunir todos sus looks de grandes proveedores de Los Ángeles y marcas online. Brianne fue una colaboradora maravillosa y compartimos imágenes inspiradoras en un álbum compartido... ¡Las superestrellas de IG Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner y Bella Hadid ocuparon un lugar destacado!", nos explica Audrey.
And while Lennon's island looks have left us mesmerized episode after episode, Margot's fashionista style has made us fall in love. Each look worn by Brianne was a complete fantasy with no shortage of pastel colors and, of course, accessories: "As our resident fashion princess, influencer, and daughter of wealth, Margot’s wardrobe had to telegraph a lot of information about her position in the world. I had a big fitting in Los Angeles with Brianne before we shipped out to Hawaii, and that was invaluable in pulling together all her looks from great LA vendors and online brands. Brianne was a wonderful collaborator and we shared inspirational images back and forth in a shared album…I G superstars Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid featured prominently!", Audrey explains to us.

A diferencia del estilo de Lennon y Margot, Riley opta por atuendos mucho más informales, pero siempre con ese toque tan personal que la identifica. Y, si hay un look de Ashley Moore que ha conquistado a todos los fans de la serie, ese es su outfit de la fiesta de graduación (especial mención a la chaqueta con print de leopardo). ¿Cómo surgió la combinación de este look? Audrey Fisher nos lo cuenta: "El atuendo de Riley fue una mezcla totalmente espontánea... La directora de la serie, Sara Goodman, quería que Riley tuviera un estilo único, pero también que fuera una gran guardiana con algunas aristas más duras... así que se nos ocurrió la parte superior del bikini metálico y la divertida falda de tul (en realidad encontré esa falda en largo y sólo la corté como pensé que lo haría Riley...)... ¡todo bajo la chaqueta vaquera de leopardo oversize con botas de combate! Parecía lograr el equilibrio adecuado de querer ser coqueta y dura a la vez en la última gran fiesta del instituto..."Unlike Lennon and Margot's style, Riley opts for much more casual looks, but always with that personal touch that identifies her. And if there is an outfit of Ashley Moore that has conquered all the fans of the series, it is her first episode outfit (special mention to THE LEOPARD PRINT JACKET!!). How did the combination of this outfit come about? Audrey Fisher tells us: "Riley’s outfit was a totally spontaneous mash-up… Showrunner Sara Goodman really wanted Riley to have unique style but also be a big guarded with some harder edges… so we came up with the metallic bikini top and fun tulle skirt (I actually found that full length and just chopped it short as I thought Riley would…)… all under the oversized leopard denim jacket with beat up combat boots! It seemed to strike the right balance of wanting to be both flirty and tough at the last big high school party…"

El diseño de vestuario siempre ayuda a contar una historia, pero es especialmente crucial cuando hay alguna prenda involucrada directamente en la trama y que hace que la vida de los protagonistas dé un giro de 180º: "Me encanta la pieza emblemática de Lennon: su chaqueta militar con bordado en la espalda", confiesa Audrey. "Fue un trabajo de amor, trabajando estrechamente con Sara [Goodman] para establecer los elementos de diseño perfectos, y luego encontrando una artista y bordador que trabajara conmigo para lograr la chaqueta soñada. Suki-Rose Etter es la talentosa artista que hizo todas las chaquetas... y me ayudó a diseñar esa maravillosa imagen de hermana gemela hawaiana con el ojo que todo lo ve, el sol y la luna, el volcán y el hibisco... ¡con las estrellas brillando en el cielo y la lava fluyendo como la sangre! Creo que nunca he estado tan encantada con el proceso y el producto final; ¡era exactamente lo que había imaginado! Y estoy encantada con lo destacada que era esa chaqueta... ¡Y por supuesto tuvimos que hacer casi una docena para satisfacer todas las necesidades del espectáculo! ¡Realmente una pieza mágica que ayudó al público a seguir nuestro giro argumental de las gemelas!"
Costume design is always essential to tell a story, but it is especially crucial when there is a garment that is directly involved in the plot and that makes the protagonists' lives take a 180º turn: "I love Lennon’s signature piece: her army jacket with embroidery on the back," Audrey confesses. " That was a labor of love, working closely with Sara to establish the perfect design elements, and then finding an artist & embroiderer to work with me to achieve the dream jacket. Suki-Rose Etter is the talented artist who made all the jackets… and helped me to design that wonderfully Hawaiian twin sister image with all-seeing eye, sun and moon, volcano, and hibiscus…with stars sparkling in the sky, and lava flowing like blood! I don’t think I’ve ever been so delighted with the process and the finished product; it was exactly what I envisioned! And I’m delighted with how featured that jacket was…And of course we had to make almost a dozen to satisfy all the needs of the show…! Truly a magical piece that helped the audience track our twin plot twist!
Los episodios de 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' reflejan la dedicación y el gran trabajo que ha habido detrás de las cámaras. ¿Cómo fue trabajar en este proyecto? Audrey nos lo explica: "Fue un proyecto de ensueño en un lugar de ensueño: ¡Oahu! La directora de la serie, Sara [Goodman], fue increíblemente comunicativa, inteligente, comprensiva y amable, y todos nuestros actores fueron absolutamente increíbles. Los ajustes fueron creativamente gratificantes y muy divertidos. Y todos disfrutamos del proceso y de encontrar juntos el aspecto característico de cada personaje. ¡Éramos una verdadera Ohana!"
The episodes of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' reflect the dedication and hard work that went on behind the scenes. What was it like working on this project? Audrey explains: "This was a dream project in a dream location—Oahu! Showrunner Sara was incredibly communicative, smart, supportive and kind, and all our actors were absolutely amazing. Fittings were creatively rewarding & good fun! And we all enjoyed the process and finding each character’s signature look together. We were a true Ohana!"

Si bien la historia contada por Sara Goodman, Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ashley Moore, Ezekiel Goodman y compañía ya era suficientemente increíble como para tenernos en vilo semana tras semana a la espera de un nuevo episodio, las ganas de ver a Margot con sus looks más fashionistas, la expectación por ver con qué look informal nos iba a deleitar Riley o la curiosidad porque saliese una escena en la que pudiésemos apreciar con detalle la chaqueta emblemática de Lennon y descifrar los elementos bordados en ella, es lo que convierte al vestuario de esta serie en algo completamente simbólico, extraordinario y trascendente.
Audrey Fisher y su equipo han conseguido crear todo un vestuario único a la altura de la trama y de las expectativas, convirtiendo, quizá no a propósito, el vestuario de personajes como Lennon, Margot y Riley en referentes estilísticos que prometen inspirar los looks de fans de todo el mundo. Así que, llegados a este punto, solo nos queda desear que Amazon Prime confirme la segunda temporada de 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' lo antes posible, para que podamos volver a disfrutar de looks tan increíbles como los que ya nos han fascinado en esta primera tanda de ocho episodios.
While the story told by Sara Goodman, Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ashley Moore, Ezekiel Goodman and company was already incredible enough to keep us in suspense week after week waiting for a new episode, the desire to see Margot in her most fashionable looks, the expectation to see what casual look Riley was going to delight us with or the curiosity to see a scene in which we could appreciate in detail Lennon's emblematic jacket and decipher the elements embroidered on it, is what makes the wardrobe of this series something completely symbolic, extraordinary and transcendent.
Audrey Fisher and her team have managed to create a unique wardrobe that was up to the plot and expectations, turning, perhaps not on purpose, the outfits of characters like Lennon, Margot and Riley into stylistic references that promise to inspire the looks of fans around the world. So, at this point, we can only hope that Amazon Prime confirms the second season of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' as soon as possible, so we can enjoy again such incredible looks as those that have already fascinated us in this first batch of eight episodes.
